Differential equations on S^3 and topological dynamical systems given
by cocycles
Abstract:
Starting with some differential equations considered by H. Poincare
we will obtain dynamical systems which are suspensions over cocycle
extensions of some minimal systems. I will overview the theory of
cocycles over minimal
rotations (focusing on paralles and differences with measurable
dynamics) and describe the current stage of knowledge about so called
Besicovitch problem (the problem of existence of discrete orbits and
potentially other minimal subsets for cylindrical transformations).

Coffee will be served at 12:00 before the lecture
at Schreiber building 006
