What is Homogeneous Dynamics and what is it good for?
Abstract: In this talk I wish to discuss the following topics:
(1) Some examples of groups acting on homogeneous spaces.
(2) Give examples of applications that motivate the analysis of these dynamical systems.
(3) Highlight the differences between Unipotent and Diagonalizable dynamics.
(4) Survey some open problems.
