Abstract: It is believed that the eigenfunctions of the quantizations of classically
chaotic Hamiltonians behave like random band limited functions.
We discuss the laws of distribution of the topologies of the nodal sets
and nodal domains of such random functions as well as of random real
projective algebraic hyper-surfaces, and compare these with nodal domains
of eigenfunctions of arithmetic surfaces.
