  • Invariant Radon measures for horocycle flows on Z^d covers

  • Abstract:

Furstenberg showed that the horocycle flow on a compact hyperbolic surface has exactly one invariant probability measure. The horocycle flow on a Z^d-cover of a compact hyperbolic surface has no finite invariant measures (Ratner), and this raises the question of infinite invariant measures. Babillot & Ledrappier constructed a d-parameter family of infinite ergodic invariant measures which are Radon: compact sets has finite measure. They then conjectured that their family contains all ergodic invariant Radon measures. I will present a proof of this.
