Omer Adelman (U. Paris 6)
will speak on
Polya urns and the topology of some random sets in d-space.
Abstract:
Here is a "typical" situation.
Let (X_n) be a random walk in R^d, let A_n be iid random
subsets of R^d, independent of X.
Set B = union of (A_n + X_n).
What is the probability that B be arcwise connected ?
How does the answer depend on the law of (X, A) ?
How do Polya urns help ?
