Speakers: Atzmon Hen-Tov and Lior Schachter, Pontis Title: Pontis' Interpretive MDD platform Abstract In recent years, many development organizations have adopted the Model-Driven Development (MDD) approach. MDD enhances productivity and quality by allowing developers to design a system using the appropriate level of abstraction. While most MDD implementations use a generative approach (i.e. code-generation), we introduce a development platform based on the interpretive approach. This platform integrates the principles of Dependency Injection and Meta-Modeling to form an interpretive, domain-specific modeling technology. These principles are complemented by true IDE integration that provides developers with the same advanced level of usability for modeling that they have grown accustomed to in their programming environments. The lecture describes the practices we employed to create and maintain a large-scale, formal model over time. These practices have been used at Pontis Ltd. (www.pontis.com) for the last two years, by a 20+ person team developing and implementing Business Support Systems for Communication Service Providers.
