Title: Langlands program, functoriality, and inverse galois problem
Abstract: I will give a brief overview of the underlying ideas of the
Langlands program, results on the functoriality component, due in part
to D. Ginzburg and D. Soudry, and recent applications of these to the
inverse galois problem over the rationals. Time allowing, I will
explain my thesis problem, which is essentially a computation in
functoriality.
