Speaker: Lidor Eldabbah (Tel-Aviv University): Title: The Neukirch-Uchida Theorem Abstract: I will present a proof of the most basic result in anabelian geometry, known as the Neukirch-Uchida theorem. Let K and L be number fields. Then (the theorem says that) isomorphisms between the absolute Galois groups of K and L, up to inner automorphisms, correspond uniquely to isomorphisms between L and K. In particular, the absolute Galois group of a number field characterizes it up to an isomorphism.
