Errata and Additions for the First through Third Printings

The documents referenced below contain errata and additions for the first through third printings of the book. The first and second printings are identical, while the third has numerous corrections incorporated into it. To determine which printing you have, look at the back of the title page, i.e., the page that begins with ``Senior Editor Denise E.M. Penrose''. Near the bottom of the page is a line of numbers. If the line says ``01 00 99 98 97 5 4 3 2 1'' or ``01 00 99 98 97 5 4 3 2'', you have a copy from the first or second printing, respectively. If the line says ``01 00 99 98 5 4 3'', you have a copy from the third printing.
Minor Errata and Additions for the First and Second Printings

This PostScript file contains minor errata and additions for the first and second printings. It includes corrections for errors that should not significantly impede reading the book, such as typographical corrections, additions to both indexes, and a variety of other minor changes.

Important Errata and Additions for the
First and Second Printings

This PostScript file contains major errata for the first and second printings. Except for ``Section 7.7. Structural Analysis'' (see below) it includes all but the most trivial corrections for errors in programs and exercises and corrections for other parts of the text that may substantially impact the reader's understanding of parts of the book's content.

Errata and Additions for Section 7.7. Structural Analysis in the First and Second Printings

This PostScript file contains corrections for Section 7.7. Structural Analysis, which was found to contain a significant error in its handling of improper regions. It largely replaces pp. 204--215 of the text.

Errata and Additions for the Third Printing

This PostScript file contains corrections and additions for the third printing. They are few in number and almost all have very minor impact.
