The workshop highlights several facets of interaction between symplectic geometry/topology and topological data analysis. This includes, in particular, the theory of persistence modules and their barcodes, an algebraic tool originated in topological data analysis. Recent advances show that persistence modules and their barcodes are useful for the bookkeeping of information coming from various homology theories appearing in symplectic topology, such as Floer homology for the classical action functional on the loop space of a symplectic manifold. At the same time, symplectic topology becomes a new playground for testing methods of topological data analysis.

The goal of the workshop is to bring together leading experts in both fields as well as promising students and young researchers in order to create an open learning environment and the ground for a fruitful exchange of ideas with the goal of generating new visions and collaborations between experts and students alike.

Limited funding is available for graduate students and post-docs.
