Topology and Integrability

A fruitful interaction between topology and theory of integrable systems was known for a long time, although it was not always explicitly emphasized. I will demonstrate this using some examples from elementary Morse theory, which are very illuminating, but probably not widely known. The talk will not assume any specific knowledge beyond basic material from differential geometry and topology.
