Multivariate Approximation and Interpolation with Applications in CAGD, Signal and Image Processing

Israel, September 7-11, 1998

The Workshop will be held at the King Solomon Hotel in the resort city of Eilat
(at the southern tip of Israel on the gulf of Akaba).
The topics covered will be Wavelets, Ridge functions and Neural networks, Multivariate Polynomials, Splines and Radial functions, CAGD, Image processing, and Signal processing,

Conference Program

Altogether we are planning about 40 lectures. The duration of each lecture will be 30 minutes with some time for discussion following each talk. There will be no parallel sessions. Since the number of lectures is very limited, there might be no possibility of your giving a lecture. If you nonetheless wish to present a lecture please do inform us.
Social events: We are planning a welcoming cocktail party on Monday evening to which all participants are invited. We also plan an optional boat excursion in the Gulf of Eilat on Wednesday afternoon, and a dinner on Thursday evening.

    Travel Information

Eilat Weather - Tourism in Israel

In September the temperatures in Eilat range from 26 Centigrades (79F) at night to 35C (95F) at noon. There is no rain. Moreover the humidity is very low so it is generally pleasant. The sea and scenery are beautiful and of course the hotel and lecture hall are air-conditioned.
Participants might wish to plan an excursion to nearby Petra in Jordan after the workshop. It is well worth the trip.
