Intended Audience and Prerequisites
M.Sc./Ph.D students are welcome. The "Convex Analysis and Optimization" graduate course
is a must and minimal prerequisite.
Course requirements
Nonlinear optimization has now become an essential tool for solving complex scientific and engineering problems.
Advanced and modern topics for the analysis, development and analysis of optimization algorithms for solving
scientific problems will be studied from contemporary literature.
Reading material, topics and recent relevant articles that will be covered will be distributed in class.
- Research papers will be assigned during the semester.
- Active participation and full attendance is a mandatory.
- Lectures, preparation/summary of papers, and class discussions will determine final grades
